Dining Out with DMWS

Our May Dining Out fundraiser event will be at Freddy’s (at Patterson Place in Durham) on May 11, 5-8 pm.  This is for drive thru only.  Please mention DMWS when ordering!

 

We have a bonus Dining Out with DMWS event this month! On May 17th, Chick-fil-A on Hillsborough Rd. in Durham will help kick off our Spirit Week Festivities.  Mobile Orders Only All Day! Place your mobile order and write “Spirit Day” in the “Special Instructions” section,

 

 

DMWS Virtual Silent Auction April 20 – 25

WHEN: From noon on Tuesday April 20th through noon on Sunday April 25th

You must create an account on 32Auctions to bid.  No payment is required at the time of bidding.  After the auction closes, each winner will be notified by email to arrange payment and item exchange.  For payment: cash, check or Venmo payments will be accepted. Items will be distributed via carline.

WHY: This is the most profitable yearly fundraiser for our school. Funds raised by the Parents’ Council directly enrich our children’s experience at DMWS by funding classroom books, craft supplies, special items such as classroom furniture and the gathering drum and by providing tuition assistance.

Dining Out with DMWS

Our March Dining Out fundraiser night will be at The Loop (1116 Broad St. in Durham) on March 16, 4-8 pm. They will donate 10% of the sales back to DMWS! Please mention DMWS when ordering!

Thanks to Early Bird Donuts and Chipotle for hosting our two February events and Thank you to our DMWS families for participating. We sold 36 dozen donuts which gives $120 back to DMWS. We also hit our goal at Chipotle to get $114 back to DMWS!!!

 

Canned Food Drive for Urban Ministries of Durham – Update

Many thanks to all who participated in our annual canned food drive. DMWS delivered 254 nonperishable items to Urban Ministries of Durham Food Pantry on Monday, February 22. Before the delivery, the children lined our hallway with cans. They counted, investigated weight, and compared sizes.

 

Canned Food Drive for Urban Ministries of Durham

Each February, DMWS sponsors a canned food drive to support the Food Pantry at Urban Ministries of Durham. This year, students may bring in canned food items between Feb. 8 and Feb 19. We will line the hallway with the donations and students will be able to use the cans for math activities before we bag them to be donated. Students love seeing the items fill the hallway. Thanks for your support!

 

Dining Out with DMWS

Our February Dining Out with DMWS fundraiser night will be at Chipotle (Patterson Place, 15-501 in Durham) on Tuesday, February 16th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Please see the flyer for details.

A quick note about this event – Chipotle requires that our event bring in at least $150 in total sales then they will donate 33% back to our school! We need our DWMS families to work together to raise money for our school. Bring a copy of the flyer with you to show to the cashier when you purchase your food.

Our January Dining Out with DMWS event will be January 11th at Alpaca Chicken at 703A 9th St. Durham, NC 27705. Visit the restaurant between Noon and 7 pm and mention Duke Memorial Weekday School when you order.

Registration Information for 2021-2022

Registration for next year begins on January 27. In order to hold a spot for 2021-2022 at the time of registration, you will pay a registration fee of $75 for returning students  or $85 for students new to Duke Memorial Weekday School. All registration fees are non-refundable.

During the week of January 19-22, families will receive an application for each of your currently enrolled children through their school folder.
