DMWS Spring Carnival  – New Date to Be Determined

Due to schedule changes in response to COVID-19, the Duke Memorial Weekday School Spring Carnival will be rescheduled to a date, yet to be determined. Please keep an eye on this space for the latest information.

We do still need help organizing the Spring Carnival and Silent Auction, so please let us know if you are able to help out. Email the Parents Council to volunteer to help or to ask questions! Thanks!

 

The safety and well being of our students, staff, and families is our number one priority during this uncertain time. While we are not aware of anyone in our community that has tested positive for COVID-19, we are committed to actively participating in a global effort to protect the health of our community.    Based upon the current and known information from federal, state, and local agencies as well as following the precedent of our local school systems, Duke Memorial Weekday School will be closed for two weeks from March 16 through March 27. Starting Monday, March 16, the school will be closed to all individuals, including staff.

 

Dining Out with DMWS

Our next Dining Out with DMWS will be March 10th at the Original Q Shack. They are donating 5% of sales from the day to Duke Memorial. Restaurant hours are 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. Be sure to go out and enjoy some great food at the Original Q Shack, located at 2510 University Drive Durham, and ask your friends to join you!

We would like to express our thanks to recent Dining Out with DMWS donors, Pop’s Backdoor Pizza and Chipotle Mexican Grill. We appreciate your donations to Duke Memorial Weekday School and of course, the food was fabulous!

 

DMWS Canned Food Drive for Urban Ministries

Many thanks for supporting the DMWS Canned Food Drive in February. Urban Ministries of Durham was very grateful for the 334 food items we delivered for distribution through their food pantry. The children enjoyed lining the hallways with food and talking about helping our neighbors. We were also able to sneak in some math connections!

 

I am so, so grateful for the years my two children spent at Duke Memorial Weekday School. DMWS gave my children the safe and loving environment they needed to learn and grow. The teachers at DMWS went above and beyond to care for them and teach them, and our family has so many happy memories from our time at this wonderful school.
